Given the team members' strong background in R&D, SampleSumo has good relationships with several research institutions (Ghent University, Music Technology Group, ...). This helps us to stay up to date with the latest developments in the music research field.
Through strategic collaboration and technology licensing agreements with Ghent University, SampleSumo has access to state-of-the-art intelligent audio processing research results, that are used in our upcoming products and technology packets.
Each year, SampleSumo also proposes and co-supervises a few music technology related thesis projects at Ghent University.
Last year students that are looking for an interesting thesis or internship can always contact us to see if we have possibilities for projects (both technical and commercial) in collaboration with their research institution.
SampleSumo was originally funded by a mix of own financial resources and revenue streams from the services we perform for our clients.
We also work together with the following partners who acknowledged the potential of our R&D and business plans:
The government agency for Innovation by Science and Technology (IWT) provides SampleSumo with financial support for SME innovation projects.
ParticipatieMaatschappij Vlaanderen (PMV) provides additional funding for innovative start-ups that obtained support from IWT for innovation projects.
Investors interested in teaming up with SampleSumo to execute its long term business plans can contact us for more info.
Since the start of the company, SampleSumo has been coached and supported by BRYO. This is a nationally supported initiative of the Flemish chamber of commerce (VOKA) that brings together a group of "bright young entrepreneurs", with the aim of stimulating entrepreneurship and providing guidance through shared experiences and advisory boards.
