SaltyGrain Mainstage problem

It seems like SaltyGrain causes Mainstage to hang on startup in some situations. The problem is very strange, but it is definitely caused by SaltyGrain:

Everytime Mainstage crashes for whatever reason, any concert that uses an instance of SaltyGrain won't load up anymore after the crash. Mainstage hangs on load up in the middle of the status bar. It happens all the time and is absolutely repeatable.
I found out about it by systematically removing plugins from the Component folder and I could definitely narrow the problem down to SaltyGrain. The crashes don't seem to have much to do with SaltyGrain at the first glance though. But maybe under the hood they do...

What i did so far was to remove SaltyGrain from the Component folder, load up MainStage and put it back in afterwards. After that procedure my Mainstage sessions start to work again.

Unfortunately i have to quit working with SaltyGrain from now on, because obviously my live templates have to be reliable. I hope this can be fixed somehow.

I had another look at it, and it seems like some of the crashes have to do with SaltyGrain. I get a crash for example when I change the Mainstage buffer size when i have a template open that uses an instance of SaltyGrain. When i remove SaltyGrain I can change the buffer without problems.

MainStage 2.2.2

Hi Monas,
thanks for reporting!
Strange problem indeed...
We will try to reproduce this using the info you provided, and then find out what's going on.
Have you only seen this with MainStage? Or do you seen this with other applications as well?

Hi Koen,

I only experienced it in MainStage so far which is where I work mostly. But as it has pretty much the same engine as Logic I would guess that Logic could be affected as well.

Thanks for taking a look at this!

Hi Monas,
just tried to reproduce this in MainStage on my own Mac by doing this (let me know if there is a better sequence that exhibits the problem): load a template (vocal), adding SaltyGrain to it as a send effect somewhere, and then changing the buffer size multiple times, also all possible combinations with sample rates, but I couldn't get it to crash.
I'm on OSX 10.7.5 with MainStage 2.1.3 at the moment.
Will try again with 2.2.2, but it might be for Wednesday...
